Самое главное отличие между вышеуказанными двумя ветками это графика. Сейчас создатели симулятора работают нам графическим оформлением, делая его более красочным и реалистичным. К тому же, разработчики собираются добавить различные природные эффекты (уже были внесены туман и дождь). В новейшей версии (Experimental) усовершенствовали животных, убрали зомби и поменяли показатели ХП у некоторых представителей фауны. Кроме этого, была немного изменена система постройки жилья. Создатели добавили люки, двойные двери и избавились от полублоков. Также в новой версии строительные материалы и другие предметы стали более реалистичными, они начали портиться.
